The Dress – Is from Three Floors from Very Exclusive, I got it at a discount price, given end of summer sales. It was perfect for the races, I loved the ruffle detail in this skater style dress, and the blue lining complimented the lilac, which also helped open up my options on colour theme for the rest of the outfit. It was a very comfortable dress that I will definitely wear again, which is not something you would often hear me say.
The Shoes – Shoes are from Lipsy, believe it or not I had these sitting in a box on my shoe shelf waiting to come out for a special occasion. The blue on the dress perfectly matched with the shoe colour, the gold strap detail added a nice touch. It’s often hard to find shoes that are comfortable that have heels. However, with the cushion sole of the shoe make it much easier to walk in them.
The Accessories – The clutch gold detail helped matched with the gold strap on the shoes. It’s from River Island, my go to place for a new clutch bag. The fascinator is from Claire’s Accessories, my sister gave me this for the Grand National which I attended earlier this year, so it made a reappearance one more time.
After a few hours of getting ready, I bought some prosecco for the train journey from Leeds to Thirsk, the train journey was great, as it was full of other race goers. We had tickets from Thirsk Race course, to the premium enclosure. It was a bit cold and windy on the day, so the bar area definitely helped.
I placed 6 bets, only small amounts, but was fun and had a great atmosphere. I won pretty much every bet, which was a bonus and added to the fun.
The food stands, where delicious, I ate two trays of small donuts, which were covered in chocolate and marshmallows, sounds bad, but totally worth it.
