Luxury Beauty Salon Event

I was invited to the Beauty Matters re-launch event in Garforth on the 12th March to celebrate their new beauty salon opening, needless to say I was a bit excited when receiving the invite, especially when it was only 5 mins walk away from where I live. For those of you who aren’t familiar, Beauty Matters also have another salon in Rothwell, Melanie the owner decided to up size the Garforth salon to offer more luxury treatments in the area and hence the VIP launch event.

I attended the event with fellow blogger Sarah from What Sass Says and meet a few other bloggers there, Lizi from Girls with Glasses and Jessica from Forever Miss Vanity.

From the moment I walked in I said to myself WoW…. The decor was stylish, contemporary and instantly gave off luxury. Greeted by the lovely Katie the receptionist behind the counter and Faith PR (Francesca, Ellie and Stephanie). Receiving a lovely well thought-out goodie bag, a glass of champagne (I may have had slightly more than one glass opps), a selection of appetisers on offer to nibble on and taster treatments all contributed to a well all round wonderful evening.

After sampling the delights, Marie one of the loveliest therapists gave myself and Sarah a tour around the treatment rooms. I was blown away about how mis-leading the salon was, when first entering, one spacious reception area, three treatment rooms down stairs and an impressive 6 rooms upstairs. There was an amazing double massage room, with very stylish decor and decorative light display, to give the room that luxury, relaxing and distress feeling to anyone who enters. We then had a skin consultation, I must admit, I wasn’t looking forward to the results as my skin hasn’t been feeling great at the moment. Anyhow, it showed that I had a small area of bacteria around the corner of my eyes, which I do understand as I tend to not focus around my eyes too much when cleansing as I’ve had a few bad experiences before when cleaning products have made contact with my eyes. Therefore, recommended to give Environ Pre-Cleansing oil a try I purchased a bottle (which I’ve been using since and makes my skin look radiant and smooth). I was also told my skin suffered from a large amount of sun damage, which again makes sense as I came back from Mexico only two months before and being Irish, naturally prone to freckles was a no brainier.

After the skin consultation, peeked into the 3D Lipo room, where a volunteer was having the treatment done, it amazed me if I’m being honest. 3D Lipo is an advanced machine, non-surgical fat removal, treatment of cellulite and skin tightening. At this stage I thought, really a machine that actually removes fat without going through surgery, this was too good to be true. However, it is indeed true, the machine uses electro and cryo therapy to dissolve 20-40% of fat cells in the area targeted. I thought to myself I need this around my stomach. Marie the therapist actually had the treatment done and her dress was literally hanging on her, which used to be fitted.

Following the tour around we headed back down stairs where Melanie gave a speech to thank everyone for attending and ran through the treatments on offer. To support the event, fund raising for Macmillan Cancer, a representative guest speaker came along to give her support. There was a raffle in aid of the charity for £2 a ticket, so I bought one. The day after I actually received an email to say I was the lucky winner of the 3D lipo session, I couldn’t believe it and I’m booking in to use the voucher in April.

Treatments available at the salon are anything from waxing, tanning, threading to pamper packages. What amazed me about the salon was the amount of treatments available outside of the usually everyday waxing, nail and tanning treatments, Beauty Matters also offers a range of skin and holistic treatments, as well as colonic hydrotherapy, specialised electrolysis and massage packages. Something to give the local competition a run for their money.

In our lovely goodie bags, there were some Environ products, which included Body Pamper Pack and AVST moisturiser hydratant, as well as a £10 voucher for my next visit. Believe it or not I actually went back to the salon 2 days after for under arm waxing and the ladies recognised me straight way. One of my work colleagues Sam heard me mentioning the salon as well, so she also visited to have her nails done last weekend and had loads of compliments to give.

I would hate to think what the competition in the local area are thinking right now. Thanks again to Melanie and the girls at the Garforth Salon, as well as Faith PR for inviting me, was such a lovely evening that I really enjoyed and certainly helps to spread the good word about :-).

Have you got a favourite salon that you visit regularly?
